At the Millennium Education Group, each Academic Year is strategically allocated a distinct theme to connect and unite teaching faculty and student body by aligning their focus to one central idea. Based upon the Academic Year Theme, School`s curricular, co-curricular and beyond-the-classroom activities are designed and devised to ensure meaningful learning in the classrooms.
The theme for Academic Year 2022-2022 has been envisioned as the “Year of Circle in Learning and Teaching”. For many decades, a positive and strong relationship between teachers and learners have been considered as one of the pivotal parameters to nurturing and preparing students to thrive in the 21st century. However, the unprecedented times of COVID -19 made it evident that the bond between teacher and student is not complete without parental involvement.
In connection to our last year`s theme i.e. Year of Visible Learning and Wellbeing where everything from students’ day-to-day progress to their achievements in academics as well as beyond the classroom activities were displayed throughout the year to make learning visible to both; our learners as well as parents. The theme focused on enlightening parents about the true potential of our learners and learners about their progress so they can reflect and act accordingly. Now as we proceed to the next year, after successfully culminating the Academic Year 2021-2022, we believe that the collaborative efforts of teachers and parents help and direct students towards greater academic achievements. Parents are the school`s essential partners in a child`s education as they know their child better than anyone else does so parents, school and learners are equally vital.
As per the research conducted on successful schools, increased parental involvement has shown to be directly proportional to learners’ success. Along with the improvement in learners` learning trajectory, they also develop emotionally as well as socially.
For Circle in Learning and Teaching, three C`s that construct a strong parent-teacher relationship are;
- Communication: Open and continuous communication is the key to building a healthy relationship between parents and teachers.
- Consistency: Constant engagement between parents and teachers for consistent learning at home as well as at school.
- Collaboration: Teachers` strong collaboration with parents is the prerequisite for devising effective teaching strategies and methodologies considering each child`s individual needs.
Here, we would like you to answer one question, “Is school an extension of Home or Home an extension of School? We strongly believe that both, as without learning at home or nurturing at school, it will be difficult and challenging to ensure a well-rounded development of the learner.
We at The Millennium Education are committed to provide our students with enriching learning experiences throughout their journey at TME as they undergo an extensive study plan designed to cater to the needs of individual learners.
During last year, we have closely worked with our parental community through our communication platforms (PTMs. SMS, Meet and Greet Days) and LMS MATRIX APP to ensure transparency and visibility. In the Academic year 2022-2023, we look forward to having more frequent, timely and effective communications with our parental community.
