We are thrilled to announce that Ms. Uzma Siraj, a teacher at Future World School in Bahria Town, Karachi, has been awarded the Regional Winner of the 2023 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award for the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan. This prestigious award recognizes the contributions of outstanding teachers worldwide, and Ms. Siraj’s exceptional dedication and tireless efforts in the field of education have set an inspiring example.
From over 11,000 nominees in 99 countries, Ms. Siraj rose to the top with her remarkable achievements. Beginning her journey as a Montessori teacher, she worked her way up to A-levels, demonstrating her passion and commitment to teaching. During her tenure as a Montessori teacher, she went above and beyond for her students, assisting a physically-disabled child in day-to-day tasks and even helping the child win a musical chair contest. Despite her own financial instability, she sponsored the education of a janitorial staff’s child who aspired to be a doctor. Ms. Siraj further expanded her area of education by appearing for the CAIE Urdu examinations, earning a distinction.
Ms. Siraj is an iron-willed woman who supported her ailing husband and children while working twice as hard, providing pick-and-drop services to students to make ends meet. Her dedication to her students is unwavering, and she pledged to help anyone in need. Her efforts in organizing a flood relief charity drive demonstrate her outstanding character.
